Start by scheduling the iPhone pickup during the biggest art festival (that you weren’t aware of), then show up an hour and a half early as the weather forecast shows that It’s going to be the worst storm in weeks. After actually getting the phone picked up, try to move EVERYTHING over from your android phone, including apps. It’s gonna take at least an hour. Maybe three. But hey, at least I get to sit here and write about my time sitting here. Lots of people around me moving phones, setting up AppleCare which I actually recommend (even though I don’t like paying for it) and buying accessories. They even got me since their watch bands are much higher quality than anything else I’ve found online. I ended up buying a MagSafe charging pad for a project and an ultramarine watch band. The watchband is comparable to the Samsung hook&loop band which feels plush to the touch and is easy to hand wash. I’m hopeful that the Apple watchband is the same. The noise here is pretty unbearable at points, but the Airpods Pro 2 really help cutout a lot of the higher end tones- which ends up getting covered up by listening to Dreamtheater. But listening to music got me thinking- since I’m transferring my main music subscription from Spotify to Youtube Premium, is there a way for me to keep my liked songs and transfer them to my youtube account? Actually yes, through a website called TuneMyMusic I managed to transfer all but one unavailable song. They do have a 500 song limit for each playlist, but it’s easy enough to split it all up into 500 songs or less. At this point the phone says I have about half an hour left. From there I decided to ask the Apple store staff what their favorite features are on iOS 18.
Scheduled texts- Custom icons, locations, and colors. The new photos app (once they figured out how it works) and Apple Intelligence (which is only in iOS beta’s as of writing this, 9/21/24).
After that, I only had 5 more minutes before I setup with my 2 week test of Visible, by Verizon. I’ll go over that possible mistake after the 2 weeks are over, so I’ll see you next time.
